# Consulting

I work at the intersection of business administration and information technology. My consulting starts with a business question, the processes behind it and the information needed to make a decision. My main areas include business informatics, cost accounting, controlling, reporting and automation.

A useful starting point is to establish which information a business actually needs and how to provide it reliably. I examine data sources, calculations and reports together. This can help clarify how costs should be allocated, which figures support a decision and where different reports should use the same underlying data.

For automation projects, I first look at the workflow: which steps repeat, where errors occur and where the same information is entered more than once.
